Tenerife Canary Islands

Straddling the equator - the Canary Islands are a volcanic region off the north west coast of Africa - consisting of seven main and six smaller islands. They enjoy a constant temperature, springtime and summer, throughout the year with plenty of sunshine. Making it a very popular all year round destination. There are seven islands in the Canaries - divided into two provinces - Santa Cruz de Tenerife which included the islands of Tenerife, La Palma Gomera, and Hierro. Las Palmas - which includes the islands of - Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura, and Lanzarote. The landscape of each island is radically different - volcanic landscapes, dense forest, volcanoes, and desert. Tenerife - is the largest of the Canary Islands and also the highest. The division between the north and the south of the island is covered by the National Park of Teide and to reach the summit of the mountain is a spectacular cable car ride of 1200m (in just 8 minutes) where you can experience the magnificent views accross the islands. The north and south of the island of Tenerife are very different - the north is traditionally Canarian with beautiful sleepy villages, it has a higher rainfall resulting in lush greenery anwith tropical flowers. The south is the more lively main tourist area and is much dryer with year round sunshine. Situated just off the coast of Africa -Tenerife’s warm and sunny climate makes it an ideal holiday destination.
