Kenya

Kenya Kenya is the heart of the african Safari experience and nothing will prepare you for the exitement of the annual mass migration of wild animals in the Masai Mara - and although safaris are Kenya’s greatest attraction this is a country of great diversity and has much to offer - stunning coastal palm fringed beaches, magnificent scenery, pristine coral reefs, sailing, and many water sports. The coast is home to Swahili civilizations and old port towns rich in history. People are friendly and the combination of wild life, beaches, and mountains, make this a fantastic holiday destination. English and Swahili are the languages taught throughout the country, but there are many other tribal languages. Muslims make up some 30% of the population but in the more rural areas it is a mixture of Muslims, Christians, and people of local tribal faith. ` this is the place for the outdoor living experience` Lamu Island Set in an archipelago of coral fringed islands this small peaceful coastal town with its strong Swahili culture has remained the same for centuries. Lamu is a wonderful island filled with empty white sand beaches, warm sea breezes, and stunning sunsets. It has narrow winding streets, busy marketplaces.( there are no cars here) so you have to walk or take a boat. Discover Lamu on foot or by donkey, watch the ancient art of ocean going dhow building, explore endless white sandy beaches by day and savour delicious seafood by night. The beach starts just five minutes walk from the village and is a reason why people return to Lamu again and again - seven miles of uncrowded golden sands. Shela village - is a tangle of narrow sandy lanes scented with the smell of bourgainvillea and jasmine, tall stone houses, thatched dwellings, and small mosques. Rent one of our stunning houses with the option of a chef to cook up sumptuous meals.
